**The Role**
Within the Logistics Management function an APS4 Logistics Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve straightforward logistics inventory management work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to understand and comply with relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defences mission and policy requirements.
The duties of an APS4 Logistics Officer occupation in Defence include the following:
- Perform governance duties on logistics inventory management activities in accordance with the Electronic Supply Chain Manual.
- Deliver logistics inventory management through the use of information management systems and responding to inventory requests.
- Draft responses to correspondence, briefs and reports on logistics inventory management activities.
- Understand inventory management to provide straightforward advice to stakeholders.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in team work and group activities.
- Listen to and adapt communication style and approach to meet the needs of different audiences and people.
- Seek feedback from supervisor to gauge satisfaction and seek assistance when required.
- Take the initiative to learn and comply with logistics procedures, legislation, policy and regulatory frameworks.
**About our Team**
The Logistics Officer APS4 is part of the HQ team under direction from the APS6 Administration Manger. The HQ team also consists of the Institute Director, Commanding Officer, OPSWO, APS3 Admin Officer and Quality/WHS Officer.
The Admin Manager and the Admin Officer work to control the Unit finances/Unit purchases and the PSS/PMKeys administration for APS and ARA staff. The Institute Director controls the direction of Science undertaken at ADFMIDI. The CO controls the Military functions of the Unit. The OPSWO looks after all of ADFMIDI's International Engagements.
The Logistics Officer handles the Unit equipment and the ordering of Unit stores. The Quality/WHS Officer maintains the Safety standards of the Unit and audits all of the Unit systems.
We are looking for an organized and disciplined person who has good time management skills. This person will need to work well in a team environment and will need good customer service skills.
This person will need to be thorough with tasks to ensure they are completed timely and correctly. This person will be able to work with limited supervision. An understanding of ADF logistics systems, stock-taking and equipment disposal are highly desirable.
