**Position Information**:
Narrabeen Sports High School is a comprehensive, inclusive, co-educational high school, located 40 minutes from the Sydney CBD on the northern end of the Northern Beaches (1020 students, including 10 Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students). As an Olympic Pathway Partner school, our Elective Sports Academy also draws emerging elite student-athletes from areas outside of the community catchment.
This is an opportunity for a Head Teacher Secondary Studies to be at the forefront of educational leadership in a school focused on talent development, high expectations and quality learning experiences. This role will focus on growth and enrichment for all learners and support transition processes.

The NEST (Narrabeen Elanora Student & Teacher) collaboration with our partner primary schools facilitates strong middle schooling programs and a K-12 pathway for all domains of talent development (intellectual, creative, social, physical) in our local community.

**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate whole school evidence-based programs to support strategic direction student growth and attainment.
- Capacity to develop targeted professional learning to support staff in differentiated teaching practice for students with additional learning needs and high potential and gifted learners.
- Highly developed organisational and interpersonal skills to lead a team and track student growth to ensure appropriate targeted interventions meet the needs of learners.
- Ability to build positive relationships with a focus on effective school and community partnerships to enhance transition processes, opportunities and pathways for all students.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
