**Position Information**:
Liverpool Boys High School is a comprehensive boys school in the south west of Sydney. It has 520 students, 88% from a language background other than English representing nearly 60 cultural groups. The school values are Respect, Responsibility and Learning. The school slogan is "We Choose our Success" drawing on the key principles of choice, personalisation and achievement. The school has a strong commitment from staff to a culture of innovation including our vertical senior school, Project Based Learning and the Big Picture Education Australia academy. The school has received significant equity funding for many years. The school won the Australian Education Awards for Best Government Secondary School in 2019 and was a finalist in the 2020 awards for Principal of the year and Teacher of the year. We also received the Excellence award for School of the Year and Curriculum Innovation of the Year for our Take Over project in partnership with the Sydney Opera House. The Head Teacher TAS also supervises Music.

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,

Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse range of people.

Demonstrated ability to facilitate and implement a range of diverse curriculum offerings including leading the improvement of the written components of major works.

Demonstrated passion for implementing co-curricula cross-faculty STEAM initiatives and developing this culture in the TAS/Music team.

Demonstrated ability to create and maintain strong positive relationships with students, staff and parents with a deep understanding of the needs of boys from a low socioeconomic multicultural community.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
