With a creative flair and terrific work culture, this Luxury/Premium Homewares organisation with iconic brands that predominantly markets and sells to major department stores (e.g., Myer, Harris Scarfe etc.) as well as Independent Homeware Retailers Australia wide is continuing to grow and enhance its premium product categories nationally. As a result of these exciting times, they are presently seeking an experienced Product Development Manager to manage and further enhance one of its major category groups in relation to Product Development, Sourcing, Market Trend and Analysis as well as deal with their major factories out of China, Europe, and Australia.

Reporting directly to the Head of Buying and Product Development, you will be responsible for the design and packaging development of all products within these major category groups and more. This will include all aspects relating to new market trends, sourcing, and buying new lines, negotiating relevant commercial terms and work closely with the Sales team/Account Managers to drive Sales and Brand awareness to achieve common objectives. You will also be responsible for developing new product ranges, season on season as well as the continued buying and sourcing of product ranges for this exciting and well-established Homeware’s organisation. As part of this you will be required to build strong relationships with overseas factories, in the main with China, some Europe and Australia as you will be the main point of contact. Other aspects include ensure orders and samples are kept on track and that the relevant pricing and margins are accurate for this business and its customer groups.
- Ideally you will be tertiary qualified and MUST have similar experience in a Product Development Management role including New Product Development, Sourcing, Trend Analysis, and international dealings preferably Wholesale/Supplier, but Retail experience maybe considered. Preferably you can speak Mandarin, but this is not a must. Your passion, interest and enthusiasm towards product development and working with closely with key internal and external stakeholders will be critical. You will possess superior communication and problem-solving capabilities, together with strong commercial and data analysis skills. You will have come from and been exposed to high level customer service, have a high level of initiative and drive and be able to work in an environment that changes frequently. Your ability to work under pressure, manage competing interests as well as meeting deadlines in a timely manner will ensure you are a strong contender for this exceptional opportunity.
