A dynamic new opportunity has been created, with one of Australia’s foremost Universities, for an exceptional leader to plan, deliver and manage property & facilities management operations across the $2 billion UTS portfolio. Based mainly in the CBD, with several satellite campus’s, this includes 12 major state-of-the-art multi-story buildings to be organised, presented and operated as would befit such a progressive organisation.

As Head of FM, you will assist the Director of Property operations and be responsible for the management of nearly 400,000m2 gfa. You will support the strategic leadership to ensure the built environment is safe, efficient and functional meeting university operational requirements. You will develop & drive operational sustainability as well as enhancing digital deployment in building operations. You will lead a portfolio wide upgrade and enhancement on a continuous basis in a strategically planned manner, to meet the innovative objectives of the University.

Your remit will include:

- Managing and mitigating operational risk as it relates to built infrastructure and leading the development and implementation of strategies and plans for asset operations and facilities management.
- Liaising closely with senior management to investigate and implement evolving technology for the built environment including costs, waste and emissions reduction while improving the sustainability of the physical infrastructure.
- Directing existing infrastructure to achieve cost effective management of energy resources and reducing direct energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
- Contributing advice and operational input into the design and construction phase of new and existing assets to enable significant uplift in post completion asset management efficiency.

As a key member of the Property Unit Senior leadership team, you will possess outstanding communication skills along with first-rate consultative and collaborative proficiency to build and maintain relationships and interfaces across UTS. This will include the University Executive, Deans, Directors, Faculty Managers, and senior academic staff and will concern the planning, design, funding, delivery and operation of capital projects.

This is a senior leadership position and its success will come from your ability to lead and guide the FM team and drive process, procedure and cultural change improvement. You will instil a positive and high-performance ethos in your team and through your sophisticated leadership and detailed analysis of existing systems you will ensure that cutting-edge improvement to all aspects of service delivery will be provided to UTS.

From your background of large-scale property operations/asset management in health, education, hospitality, commercial or similar you will have instigated and inspired leadership strategy and improvement processes from the highest level. You will be a proficient problem solver and an exceptionally influential communicator who can inspire innovation and excellence throughout the team. Degree qualified, or higher, you will have demonstrated senior experience in all property & asset management practices. Most importantly you will possess the high-level incisive leadership, strategic improvement and change proficiency to improve and manage the complete operation of a large, complex, state of the art portfolio.
