**About the role**
APS5 Tactical Intelligence Analyst (1 Vacancy)
**About the team - Intelligence Branch**
Tactical Intelligence Section (TIS) identifies, analyses and refers suspected cases of fraud against programs administered by Services Australia.
The section undertakes analysis of individual case selections and fraud tip-offs relating to welfare, Child Support, Medicare and emergency payments. It specialises in detecting and analysing identity fraud, unauthorised payment redirections and serious and organised offending.
Tactical Intelligence provides embedded analytical support during the investigation phase of complex operations and supports multi-disciplinary teams in response to emerging fraud risks and emergency events. The section provides support to key partner agencies and forums, such as, FINTEL Alliance, Serious Financial Crime Taskforce and the Shadow Economy Taskforce.

The roles are full-time, non-ongoing/ongoing, non-ongoing contracts for up to 18 months.

**What you will do**
Tactical Intelligence Analysts are responsible for identifying cases of suspected fraud by utilising best practice intelligence gathering, analysis, production, and dissemination methodologies.
Analysts are responsible for producing a range of intelligence products to advise key stakeholders and support fraud investigations.
**As a Tactical Intelligence Analyst you will work as part of a multi-skilled team. Duties may include some or all the following:
- Undertaking research and analysis of suspected fraud against programs administered by the agency including Centrelink, Medicare and Child Support;
- Working closely with Investigation teams, providing near to real-time analytical assistance to large scale and complex Operations and investigations
- Managing highly sensitive cases and issues, producing intelligence products and analytical charting
- Manage own work priorities appropriately, including meeting agreed individual objectives and expected outcomes within specified timeframes and operate effectively as a team member, contributing towards a positive workplace culture and optimal team outcomes
- Analysing and reporting on current and emerging fraud methodologies, trends and vulnerabilities
- Driving/contributing towards a collaborative, agile and responsive intelligence capability to successfully navigate environmental uncertainty and changing priorities
- Maintain a professional manner in accordance with the APS Code of Conduct, APS Values and ethical framework
- Developing and effectively managing internal and external stakeholder relationships and producing timely and high quality intelligence and/or cybercrime products to service a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Researching, analysing and influencing intelligence and/or cybercrime products, practices and procedures using expertise and technical knowledge.
