**Company Overview**
Maple Community Services is one of Australia's leading providers of support services to individuals with disabilities. Since its inception, Maple has been committed to enhancing the lives of people living with disabilities by promoting access, inclusion, and opportunities across various facets of life. Whether through supported independent living, NDIS plan management, or tailored support services, Maple aims to empower individuals to achieve their goals and engage meaningfully in their communities.
**About the AFL**
The Australian Football League (AFL) is Australia’s premier professional competition for Australian rules football. Beyond the field, the AFL strives to foster a culture of inclusion, with initiatives that welcome and celebrate diversity across gender, ability, ethnicity, and socio-economic backgrounds. Marvel Stadium, owned by the AFL, is one of the country's most iconic multi-purpose venues, hosting AFL matches, concerts, Big Bash League (BBL) games, soccer, and other major events.
**Maple Community Services & AFL Partnership**
In a bid to make Australian sports the most inclusive globally, Maple Community Services has partnered with the AFL to drive accessibility improvements across its venues and initiatives. This partnership is not just about promoting inclusive sports but is also about creating long-term change in the way stadiums, events, and facilities accommodate people with disabilities. Maple’s expertise in disability services combined with the AFL’s nationwide influence creates a powerful alliance for fostering accessibility in sports venues, starting with Marvel Stadium.
**About the Accessibility Audit of Marvel Stadium**
The partnership’s current focus is a comprehensive accessibility audit of Marvel Stadium, aiming to transform it into one of Australia’s most accessible venues. The audit will evaluate physical, digital, and ticketing aspects to identify barriers and recommend improvements that ensure everyone, regardless of ability, can fully experience events at Marvel Stadium. As part of this process, Maple will appoint a dedicated Disability Project Officer to oversee the audit’s development and execution.
