**About the role**:
As the Grants Assessment Officer, you will:

- Facilitate and coordinate the development and delivery of grants programs and processes.
- Ensure compliance with the NSW Grants Administration Guide and legislative requirements.
- Provide information and guidance to grant applicants, supporting the efficient management of community recovery grants.
- Coordinate and contribute to policies, projects, and activities that enhance community recovery outcomes.
- Implement and improve assessment and review processes to ensure transparency and efficiency.
- Draft departmental correspondence and ministerial briefing notes to provide timely and high-quality information.
- Contribute to program evaluations to assess and enhance grants' effectiveness.
- Prepare and maintain program documentation for reporting, monitoring, and evaluation purposes.

**About You**:
To succeed in this role, you will have:

- Knowledge of the legislative requirements for grants administration in NSW, including the NSW Grants Administration Guide and relevant acts such as the Public Finance and Audit Act.
- Excellent communication skills to provide guidance to applicants and advice to staff.
- Proven ability to draft clear and concise correspondence, reports, and briefing materials.
- A collaborative approach to coordinating activities with diverse stakeholders.
- A focus on continuous improvement to enhance processes and systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills for managing program documentation and ensuring compliance.

Essential requirements:

- Tertiary qualification and/or relevant knowledge and experience.

**About the Agency**

The NSW Reconstruction Authority (the Authority) is a statutory corporation within Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. The Authority will improve how NSW plans for disasters and help communities to recover from them faster.

To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, NGOs, businesses, and government. When disaster does strike, we will get recovery started swiftly and coordinate reconstruction efforts across agencies, communities, and other stakeholders.
