**About the role**
At Dairy Australia, we are committed to ensuring the sustainability and wellbeing of the Australian dairy industry. As part of our dedication to Pillar 2 - Improved wellbeing of people under the Australian Dairy Industry Sustainability Framework (ADSF), we are looking for an accomplished and passionate individual to join our team as the **Policy Lead, Health and Nutrition **in a.6 FTE capacity.
You will play a pivotal role in providing technical policy support and strategic guidance to help the dairy industry achieve its sustainability commitments and targets. Your primary focus will be on sustainable food and nutrition within the industry.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead on the development of policy research, analysis and advice to the Australian dairy industry on issues within the Australian Dairy Sustainability Framework, Pillar 2, Improved Wellbeing of people
- Identify issues, develop evidence and coordinate input into sustainable food and nutrition and food safety evidence-based policy and regulatory proposals, recommendations and solutions for the dairy industry.
- Identify and monitor relevant policy and regulatory developments to industry and proactively communicate those to relevant stakeholders within and external to the dairy industry.
**Skills and Experience**
- A tertiary qualification in Nutrition Science, Public Policy or other appropriate discipline or equivalent experience in similar role
- A good understanding of food and nutrition policy and regulatory developments at national (State and Commonwealth) and international level
- Demonstrated capability in the development of evidence-based policy in a multi-disciplinary and cross-functional team environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle several issues concurrently - including prioritising, time management, liaison and communication.
- The ability to convey complex evidence to different stakeholders.
