**What you’ll do**
As an External Affairs Manager you will coordinate external facing communications, media and event activities including management of external partnerships. Reporting to the Head of External Affairs, you will:
- Build and manage relationships with key external partners
- Write and edit content intended for external audiences including press releases, Q&A’s, fact sheets, speeches and talking points
- Draft material for social media and website use
- Work with members of the Corporate Affairs team on event coordination
- Manage media monitoring activities
- Write meeting briefs and issue briefs
- Lead day-to-day activities of corporate external projects across AstraZeneca
- Assist as required in the management and execution of communications programs critical to the success of internal and external brand communications plans
- Contribute to brand strategy development, policy advocacy plans and corporate affairs strategy as appropriate
- Manage and execute Corporate Affairs programs and projects to assure that deadlines are met, deliverables are as agreed, budgets are adhered to, and outcomes meet the established objectives
**Essential for the role**
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or a related field
- Experience in communications, media, corporate affairs and/or government affairs
- Social and digital media skills
- Internal and external communications experience
- Demonstrated current media relations
- Some project/event management experience
- Exceptional writing skills
- Ability to work effectively with various stakeholders to deliver project outcomes
