**THE OPPORTUNITY**:
The Patient Engagement & Access Manager is responsible for planning and executing patient engagement, policy, and communication activities to achieve accelerated patient access to medicines. Your primary responsibility will be to build a coalition of advocates to support the acceleration of affordable access to innovative medicines for patients. You will also be responsible for leading engagement with Health Consumer Organisations, patients, and carers to ensure internal and external stakeholders hear that patient voice supporting business-critical objectives. You will sit within the Market Access and Public Affairs team and reports to the Head of External Affairs.
**WHAT WILL YOU DO**:
Build and maintain meaningful, trusted relationships with Health Consumer Organisations, patients, and carers.
Facilitate the company's external engagement with Health Consumer Organisations, patients, and carers to support business objectives.
Serve as an ambassador of company's commitment to improving patient access within the broader scientific community. Represent us at various external forums and settings to drive accelerated patient access to innovative medicines.
Support our ongoing engagement with the Australian Government to improve health outcomes for patients. Shape industry patient engagement through active participation in Medicines Australia working groups.
Develop and execute strategic patient advocacy initiatives in partnership with key stakeholders to improve patient outcomes.
Accelerating patient access to innovative medicines in Australia:
Work in partnership with external stakeholders to improve health literacy to support patients in making informed choices about care.
Support the Market Access team to embed the patient voice into the company's reimbursement submissions for innovative medicines.
Develop advocacy campaigns to support accelerated PBS access to innovative medicines and achieve policy reform to improve patient access to medicines.
Lead and execute ongoing patient expert input forums to inform access and advocacy decision-making.
Develop patient advocacy, education materials, and resources to support accelerated access to innovative medicines.
**WHAT SHOULD YOU HAVE**:
You will have excellent interpersonal effectiveness to be successful, mainly working productively under pressure from peers and customers. You will need strong project management skills, great attention to detail, and an inherent ability to manage multiple competing priorities. In addition, you will have commercial aptitude in translating and communicating the consequences of changes for our company and other stakeholders.
You have a bachelor's degree in either policy, health economics, public health, or other relevant qualifications.
You strongly focus on delivering improved healthcare outcomes for patients through accelerated access to medicines and policy reform.
You have an excellent understanding of Australia's political, market access, and medicines reimbursement system and the access challenges faced by patients in Australia.
You have hands-on experience engaging with patient organisations, professional bodies, or scientific institutions. You have established and maintained meaningful and trusted relationships with key stakeholders.
You can influence, communicate and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Have strong business acumen and can evaluate complex problems, design, and deliver creative and novel solutions.
You are excellent at leading cross-functional teams in a complex environment and operating in a team-oriented structure.
You have advanced skills in key software programs, including Excel and PowerPoint.
You are willing to travel (up to 50 percent) to develop, build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
