**The role**

At the forefront of the industry, Origin is leading the charge with renewables and technology. You'll be part of a dynamic and vibrant commercial team working closely with Development Managers and other key project stakeholders. You’ll provide functional leadership in the provision of specialist contract services, tender management and commercial advice for Origin’s portfolio of large scale renewable generation and storage projects.

The role will be accountable for developing contract strategies, providing commercial leadership in multidisciplinary project teams and leading the negotiation of significant contracts including EPC, Design & Construct, OEM equipment supply and connection agreements with values up to hundreds of millions.

- **Support for the commercial evolution of the Asset Development & Construction Contract and Commercial team**:

- Lead the development of commercial models and contracting strategies that optimise the value of Origin’s supply portfolio.
- Develop commercial strategies that align with Origin’s purpose and vision across the lifecycle of Origin’s existing generation assets.
- Develop and implement commercial and contractual strategies for grid-scale generation and storage projects up to FID.
- Lead the development and negotiation of major equipment supply, installation and connection contracts (MWA, EPC, D&C, ESC, TCA etc.), including innovative solutions and contracting models to improve business outcomes.
- Manage internal and external legal counsel, and other corporate stakeholders such as Tax, Insurance and Treasury to deliver fit for purpose contracts that meet approved sourcing strategies and project deadlines.
- Provide strategic advice and lead commercial support for responses to government and private sector tenders/funding opportunities.

**About you**

A senior operator, your technical aptitude and commercial acumen blend to ensure your success in contract negotiation. You are comfortable working closely with the senior executive team and running high profile projects that run in the $100 millions. The right hand person to the Development Manager you are excited to work in an area that has spotlight and opportunity.

**More about you**:

- 15 + years experience in the energy industry or related industry
- Post-Graduate degree in Business, Commerce, Law Economics, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or similar analytical discipline.
- Significant experience in leading technically and commercially complex, high value contract negotiations at senior levels
- Demonstrated knowledge of development and construction within Australian energy markets
- Experience with a wide range of commercial models, execution strategies and forms of contract
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Strong influencing skills
