**About the Team**
RDA’s operations in Australia are growing rapidly and we are seeking experienced Contracts Managers to join the Legal and Commercial Team during this exciting and dynamic time. You could be responsible for providing commercial and contract advisory support for RDA’s key projects across Vehicle Systems, Electronic Solutions and Weapons & Ammunition Lines of Business in Australia.
RDA’s Legal and Commercial function is a dynamic team made up of legal, contracting, commercial, intellectual property and trade control specialists that support the business in delivering and mitigating risk under existing contracts and tendering for new business.
**About the Role**
As the **Contracts Manager Weapons & Ammunition (W&A)**, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
- The Contract Manager is responsible for:
- Assisting the Commercial Manager and Program Manager with the negotiation of the ASDEFCON contracts (acquisition and support) with the Commonwealth of Australia;
- Providing advice and assistance to the Weapons and Ammunition project manager(s) on all contracting and other commercial activities;
- Managing and administering the Prime Contract in accordance with RDA policies and procedures, ensuring compliance to RDA’s contracted terms and managing contractual risk;
- Interfacing with CASG counterparts and preparing for meetings between RDA and CASG;\
- Drafting and negotiating CCPs and ensuring that the Prime Contract is updated in accordance with ASDEFCON Complex Material contracting model;
- Supporting the identification, preparation and negotiation of Survey and Quote (S&Qs) in accordance with requirements and obligations of the Prime Contract;
- Monitoring and reporting the performance of the Prime Contract (including Deliverables, Milestones, CCPs and S&Qs) and where necessary escalate issues and/or take corrective action;
- Developing a working relationship with the Project Team and functional organisations to facilitate the flow of information which may have impact on the Prime Contract performance and execution;
- Interfacing and working with Weapons and Ammunition colleagues in Germany and assisting with administering and amending intercompany agreements related to any Prime Contracts;
- Maintaining an overview of mandatory flow downs for Approved Subcontractors under the Prime Contract and interfacing with other Legal and Commercial team members to ensure that mandatory flow downs are included in contracts with suppliers and subcontractors;
- Notifying subcontract managers of any changes under the Prime Contract that may impact contracts with suppliers in the supply chain;
- Actively supporting the Project Team in identification of opportunities for revenue enhancement, schedule relief and claim avoidance;
- Actively mitigating the risk of contractual claims and manage the contractual risk register; and
- Ensuring that a conformed version of the Prime Contract is maintained and available on SharePoint at all times.

- Prior contract management experience and/or experience negotiating and drafting contracts;
- High level of attention to detail;
- Ability to think outside of the box and solution oriented;
- Prior Defence experience and understanding of ASDEFCON contracting (desirable not required); and
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
