This role will see you lead the next chapter in the development of our important Melbourne service located in the heart of Docklands. You will be a part of a supportive team in an organisation that holds children at the centre of our decisions and draws on a long history of demonstrating quality through early learning and adult learning programs.

There are many elements that make Gowrie at The Harbour (Docklands) unique. From our shared garden space where children interact with siblings and other children across a range of ages, to our Out and About Program that supports community engagement and relationship with Country. We are uniquely located on the first floor with natural outdoor space and we are adjacent to the beautiful Birrarung (Yarra River). We are conveniently located only a short walk or tram from Southern Cross station.

Our vision for Gowrie at the Harbour is to create a hub for innovation, demonstration and community connection across the Docklands precinct working with our teams at both the Harbour and Docklands Kindergarten as well as our coaching, mentoring and professional learning teams.

**About the Role**
- Lead the team to establish a strong vision for the service that is aligned to the Gowrie philosophy and lead the overall operation of the program
- Develop strong collaborative relationships with families
- Bring a genuine curiosity about the changing needs of the Docklands and CBD communities and how The Harbour can meet these
- Establish and maintain relationships with the local community to ensure the programs support the community to thrive
- Inspire and motivate the team through ongoing coaching and opportunities for learning and development
- Lead continuous improvement with support from operational and pedagogical teams
- An opportunity to work beyond the daily management of an early learning service - to lead and inspire a centre of innovation and demonstration working with community and our adult learning team to offer opportunities to the broader early childhood sector
- Contribute to the wider organisation by continuously improving practice through collaboration, reflection and working with the leadership team.

As Centre Director/Manager you will work as part of a service-level leadership with an Assistant Manager, an Educational Leader and administrative support. You will also work closely with support from our operations team and Pedagogy Leader.

**About You**

You will bring to the role:

- A genuine enthusiasm for making a difference in the lives of children and their families
- Demonstrated experience of leading continuous improvement and implementing change initiatives across a large team
- Commitment to seeing beyond the walls of the service with strong experience in community engagement
- Significant experience and demonstrated capacity to lead and mentor a team
- Comprehensive knowledge of the National Quality Framework and approved learning frameworks
- Experience working with a range of systems, including CCSS and rostering systems
- Diploma (minimum) qualification in Early Childhood, or equivalent
