About us
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.
The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the role
This role forms part of the Judicial Support Services Unit of MCV. The Unit provides executive, administrative, secretariat and research services to the judiciary and works closely with the staff of the Chief Magistrates' chambers.
The focus of this role is to provide administrative and general support to the judicial officers of the MCV, and executive and secretariat support to key magistrates at MMC as required. The role assists across the functions of the Judicial Support team, including responding to internal and external enquiries, support for systems and processes in judicial resourcing and coordination, and general administrative assistance to the chambers of the Chief Magistrate.
About you
This role requires an experienced, high performing administrator, who is a motivated self-starter, extremely organised, and has great attention to detail. The individual must be able to work independently, as well as being an effective member of a multi-disciplined team. The role requires someone who is able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, who works well under pressure and who has excellent problem-solving skills. Interpersonal and verbal communication skills must be highly developed, with the capacity to build and maintain strong and productive relationships with the judiciary and key stakeholders. Providing first class administrative support comes naturally to you as does working efficiently in busy, high pressure workplaces.
