At Transgrid, we play a crucial role in delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable energy to millions of Australians. Operating over 13,000 km of high-voltage transmission lines and 128 substations across NSW and the ACT, we connect electricity generators to the distribution network—powering homes, businesses, and communities.
As the energy sector evolves, we’re growing our workforce to drive innovation and transformation.
**The Opportunity**
Safety is central to everything we do at Transgrid. As the Program Lead for PSSR, you will be the custodian of our Power System Safety Rules (PSSR) training. You’ll design and deliver programs that ensure every employee and contractor understands and applies these rules correctly, embedding a culture of safety across the organisation.
You will work closely with HSE teams, Electrical Safety Managers, and operational leaders to ensure training reflects current practices, risk controls, and compliance requirements. This role is about much more than compliance. It’s about protecting lives and ensuring every person goes home safe, every day.
**A Day in the Life at Transgrid**
In this role you’ll:
- Develop and deliver PSSR training and authorisation programs.
- Collaborate with HSE and operational teams to align training with safety priorities.
- Monitor effectiveness of training and continuously improve based on feedback and incidents.
- Maintain accurate training records for compliance and audit purposes.
**About You**
You bring a deep understanding of electrical safety, authorisations, and HV operations. You know how to engage others on safety, making rules and compliance meaningful, practical, and lived. You will bring:
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology plus Certificate IV TAE (or willingness to obtain).
- Significant experience with safety rules and HV authorisations in the energy sector.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver engaging safety training.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative style.
**Our Values in Action**
This role lives Transgrid’s values every day:
- Safety - ensuring safety rules are understood, applied, and embedded.
- Achievement - building capability that reduces incidents and improves operational reliability.
- Integrity - maintaining compliance and trust in how we manage safety.
- Service - safeguarding our people and ensuring reliable power for the communities we serve.
**Benefits & Perks**
At Transgrid, we empower our people with a well-rounded benefits package designed to support their personal, professional, and social well-being, helping them deliver their best work every day. Employees have access to a range of corporate discounts across retail, utilities, travel, health & wellbeing etc, as well as novated leasing options, workplace flexibility, 20 weeks paid parental leave and more.
Regardless of where you are in your professional journey, Transgrid powers your career by providing access to regular and on-going training, workplace mentoring and tertiary education. Here you are encouraged to build a career that is right for you.
