**Description**:
About the role
The Operational Excellence Lead is a hands-on role that drives a Lean and Continuous Improvement culture in production and assembly processes, focusing on efficiency and quality.
The role demands a solid background in optimising operations with a focus on enhancing efficiency and quality in a production environment. This position requires a strong sense of personal leadership, analytical abilities, and a commitment to safety in a fast-paced environment. You bring experience in driving and communicating change and have a proven demonstrated records of building strong relationships, achieving targets, and developing high-performing teams.
This role is based at Eastern Creek and requires availability during operational work shifts.
**Your key responsibilities are**:
Assess the operations and actively prepare and present improvements programs
Introduce and actively implement Lean and Continuous Improvement (CI) principles within the assembly processes.
Lead and support the assembly team in the deployment of operational targets
Establish productivity metrics
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
Creates work teams and delivers to objectives
Monitor and evaluate assembly processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Provide training and development to team members on Lean and CI methodologies.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the team.
Support the Supply Chain Manager in developing and achieving production targets and goals.
Implement and drive visual management systems to track progress and performance.
Analyse production data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for assembly processes.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
Coordinate and lead regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and opportunities.
**Skills and Experiences**:
**What we are looking for**:
Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies is highly desirable.
Minimum of 5 years of successful experience in a production or assembly environment, with a focus on process improvement and team leadership.
Proven experience implementing Lean and CI principles in a manufacturing setting.
Strong understanding on optimal operational flows
Data Savvy with strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret production data and metrics.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
Demonstrated experience in driving and implementing change
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in a production setting.
