In this role, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the robust biosecurity system, ensuring the proper regulation of export and import certifications, and diligently monitoring compliance with import and export legislation. **Your new role**:
As the Assistant Director your responsibilities will include:

- Identifying and spearheading initiatives focused on international matters that span multiple areas, ensuring alignment with departmental strategies
- Provide expert guidance to divisional staff on international issues that cut across various aspects or involve the whole of government, ensuring a consistent and cohesive approach
- Develop strategic products targeting diverse audiences to shape and effectively communicate the division's international engagement priorities and processes.
- Prepare comprehensive advice, briefings, and written materials for senior executives
- Proactively identify risks, uncertainties, and stakeholder needs, tailoring communication accordingly to provide guidance and mitigation strategies that support offshore activities
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve business management systems and processes within the division, aiming to implement best practices and enhance operational efficiency.
