**Robert Menzies College** (**RMC**) is an Anglican residential college which provides accommodation for approximately 300 students mainly attending Macquarie University. During university vacation periods, the College provides conference accommodation to a range of groups.
This position is critical for the effective operation of the College as a community that cares for students as they transition from school to the workplace, through the process of obtaining tertiary qualifications in a College environment. The position requires a heart for those they work with and serve daily.
This hands-on role is responsible for the cleaning and housekeeping functions throughout the College. This is a part-time role of 20-25 hours per week generally requiring work on-site 4-5 days per week. There is a possibility to expand the role into a full-time position incorporating other related responsibilities.
The person for this role will be responsible for:
- the management & operation of all aspects of College cleaning and room servicing.
- The oversight of the external Cleaning Contractors, Linen Contractors, and other Contractors providing housekeeping services to RMC.
- The management and training of casual housekeeping staff in College cleaning and room servicing.
- The oversight of the presentation of College buildings and grounds.
The person is required to possess attributes and display an attitude fitting the Christian ethos of the College. We are seeking a person who:
- Has attention to detail especially regarding cleanliness of rooms.
- Has excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Has the ability to work collaboratively with contractors and staff, has excellent interpersonal skills and be emotionally intuitive.
- Has effective communication skills - being proactive with residents, internal staff and external cleaning contractors.
- Is not afraid to draw boundaries when it is not within the deliverables.
- Is computer literate to process requests via electronic devices.
- Is available to vary working hours to suit periodic busy time periods.
- Has previous experience in the service industry is a great benefit.
