Global satellite telecommunications organization seeking hands on Technical Manager in Mount Isa, QLD.

**Your new company**
A leading and global satellite telecommunications organization that provides satellite phone, data communications and commercial IoT solutions to over 120 countries are seeking a hands on Technical Manager to oversee one of their key Australian sites in Mount Isa, QLD.

**Your new role**
This global organisation designs, builds and launches communication satellites to enable users throughout the world to communicate via a multitude of means. Starting with voice (i.e. satellite phones), this organisation is rapidly expanding to allow their technologies to enable IoT, Machine to Machine and Data communications. Whilst currently boasting 26 satellites in orbital use, they are looking to grow this by a further 18 to accommodate the large number of devices these will globally support. To enable the functions of these satellites, this organisation operates dozens of ground stations across six continents with three of those being within Australia. Each of these ground stations are built for their geographical regions however are all made up of a combination of different radars, control rooms, technical systems and telecommunication infrastructure technologies.

As the Technical Manager, your new role within this organisation will see you manage the operations of their Mount Isa ground station. As this stations manager, you will oversee all technical operations including repairs, upgrades, rollouts and deployments across a multitude of technical disciplines whilst liaising with other station chiefs to coordinate best practices. Adding to this, you will manage the technical relationships with service providers and the various Ground Ops and Engineering Technical Support teams whilst maintaining detailed knowledge of the systems and components in use. Apart from these technical aspects, this role will also see conduct the day to day running of this site including budget requests, people management and co-ordinating project road maps.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Technical mind set and problem-solving skills
- System integrations, deployments and upgrades
- Telecommunication systems and protocols including TCP/IP, SNMP
- Computer and telecommunication equipment and systems such as PSTN, LAN, WAN, UNIX and operating systems
- Project management and budgets
- Supplier/vendor/MSP management and liaison
- Clear communication skills (written and oral)
- Full Australian working rights
