**About the role**:
Reporting to the General Manager of Network Services, this role is responsible for ensuring that the Electrical Plant and Test (EPT) and Metering Operations Group (MOG) teams are best placed from a commercial, safety and efficiency perspective to deliver on their works programs. The role requires an influential and strategic leader, with the ability to foster a culture of accountability and high performance within a highly skilled workforce.

**What you’ll deliver**:

- Plan, direct, deliver and manage the EPT and MOG works programs.
- Facilitate the short and long-term direction of the Operations team by understanding current and emerging trends in a regulated business environment and executing them in a considered and people-centric manner.
- Sponsor and deliver on business transformation through the execution of improvement projects that support and enhance safety, efficiency, productivity, innovation and collaboration.
- Maintain a focus on contestability in a dynamically shifting market, along with the high reliability of supply to customers.
- Ensure business operations are as efficient and effective as possible, where operational and delivery KPIs are met or exceeded, and where the groups feel enabled to achieve a high level of performance.
- Drive and lead initiatives that bring about change and innovation within the group/s.
- Develop trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including unions and industry bodies.
- Develop and implement plans that result in a positive commercial and continuous improvement culture, enabling and encouraging others within the team.
- Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental compliance meet the highest industry standards.

**To succeed in this role, you’ll have**:

- A tertiary qualification in an engineering, business/commerce or management discipline.
- A strong history of leading inclusive teams to deliver great outcomes, including large, unionised workforces.
- Experience in a delivery management or field-based role (would be advantageous).
- Well-developed commercial acumen, with the ability to navigate complexity with ease.
- A leadership style that is results driven and progressive.
- Experience and skill in change management and transformation.
- Excellent relationship building and influencing skills to work pragmatically and collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of employment law, legislation and frameworks, including the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
