About the role

We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join our team at our Melbourne Processing Centre in West Melbourne, VIC. As a Manufacturing Technician, you will contribute to the efficient, sufficient and timely production and distribution of safe blood and blood products. You’ll achieve this through teamwork, collaboration and an uncompromising focus on safety, quality and customer service, taking pride in delivering the right products, to the right places, at the right time.

**A day as a Manufacturing Technician could see you**:
Unpack shippers and log data into Lifeblood systems

Process and separate blood components

Freeze and store plasma components

Perform routine screening tests to ensure quality and patient safety

Participate in standard equipment set up, maintenance and cleaning with training, supervision and support

For this role, you can bring your previous experience in medical or scientific laboratory environments, manufacturing and distribution, food handling or other similar roles, working with time
- or temperature-sensitive products. Don’t worry, you don’t need to have specific experience in a health or manufacturing environment. We’ll support you in learning our policies and procedures which help us to ensure the right product gets to the right place at the right time.

Experience in fast-paced and regulated environments beneficial - including, but not limited to, medical, health, laboratory, manufacturing, distribution, pharmaceutical, retail or fast-food industries

Experience working to standard operating procedures or work instructions

Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend and twist to operate different platforms

Highly developed interpersonal skills with a collaborative working style

Excellent verbal and written communication

Technical and digital aptitude, and proficient in the use of computers

An ability to participate in a flexible roster working varied shifts

A trusted, responsive, and reliable team player who supports the achievement of shared goals

There are multiple opportunities available - both full-time and part-time positions - based out of our Melbourne Processing Centre in West Melbourne, VIC. The part-time workloads can be 20, 24 or 32 hours per week, based on preference. All roles will work across a rotating roster from Monday to Sunday. Due to the life-giving work we do, your flexibility and availability to work varied shifts across morning, afternoon and evenings are appreciated.
