Vets Central is on a mission to become Australia's leading veterinary partner, supporting the delivery of quality veterinary services to the community and we are now seeking an Accounts Officer to join our awesome (even if we do say so ourselves) support office team on a full-time basis in Bundall.
The Accounts Payable Officer’s role focuses on the end-to-end payables process from entering invoices to weekly payment runs.
**The Position**
As a valued member of the Finance Team your responsibilities will include:
- Administering the accounts payable process, including:
- Invoice data entry, ensuring invoices are tax compliant
- Ensuring appropriate approval of invoices from a clinic and support office level
- Updating of Supplier master files
- Generating payment batches
- Responding to supplier and internal requests as necessary
- Reconciliation of monthly Supplier Statements
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls
- Managing workload and ability to resolve issues
**About You**
To be successful in this role you will have a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in working in a complex and high-volume accounts payable environment. We are looking for an individual with:
- High attention to detail
- Demonstrated knowledge of general accounting principles, and of GST legislation at a transactional level.
- Willing to go above and beyond
- Customer-service focus, and ability to build strong relationships at all levels and across a variety of business units.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive and energetic work ethic
- Always looking for process improvements and solving problems
- Responsible, organized, self-directed and efficient, with ability to work to deadlines.
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics (desired but not essential) and using all Microsoft Office Suite
