SQL Database Administrator | Baseline Clearance Needed

A Canberra based Government Agency is seeking an experienced and motivated database administrator with further experience in database development, data warehousing and business intelligence spaces.

**Your new role**
As part of a small team, you’ll create big impact in providing data services. You’ll be responsible in engaging with stakeholders and other members of your team while using a new and adapted scrum methodology in order to maintain high standards of your work:

- Plan, develop, configure, maintain and support Microsoft SQL Server database management systems in accordance with user requirements ensuring optimal database integrity, security, back up, reliability and performance.
- Responsible for Capacity planning, High availability, and monitoring of ARC’s SQL Server environment.
- Collaborate with and provide advice to the ICT branch and business stakeholders in the design and implementation of new database tier services
- Contribute to the maintenance of production database tier services, including issue resolution and continuous improvement activities
- Design strategies for enterprise databases, data warehouse systems, set standards for database operations, programming, query processes, and security, and create and optimize data models for warehouse infrastructure and workflow.
- Contribute to business as usual and project planning activities
- Contribute to the development of technical documentation

**What you'll need to succeed**
Technical capability at a high level is essential, combined with communication and people management skills:

- Immediate availability to start.
- Baseline minimum clearance.
- SQL Server database administration skills.
- Excellent MS SQL Server development skills (at least 5 years of Microsoft SQL Server development)
- Experience with the Business Intelligence development stack, especially SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Analysis Services and SQL server reporting services (SSRS).
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Expert level troubleshooting and optimisation skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational, analytical and communication skills with thorough attention to detail.
