About the teamThe TEQ Finance and Planning team provides high level of support and advice to the organisation in the areas of transactional services, governance, planning and finance systems, servicing both our local and overseas teams.
About the roleThe Finance Services Specialist is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the teams processing of financial transactions ensuring consistency with TEQ's policies and procedures. This includes accounts payable, accounts receivable and corporate credit cards in a multiple foreign currency environment.
Key duties
- Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the accounts function including:

- training, supervision and work allocation to other members of the Finance Services team;* timely and accurate processing of vendor and debtor invoices in multiple currencies, reconciliation of vendor and debtor accounts, performing payment runs and ensuring the integrity of the creditors and debtors ledger;* review new and existing customer and supplier accounts including performing third party verifications when required, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures;
- Responsible for preparation of accounts receivable reports and collection activity for receivables ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Prepare GST & FBT returns and provide advice ensuring compliance with Australian and international tax legislation.
- Prepare complex general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations supporting the preparation of accurate financial reporting e.g. foreign currency revaluations.
- Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to the Finance Officer and Corporate Specialist.

You will have
- Tertiary degree in Business or Commerce with a major in Accounting
- Experience in accounts payable and receivables
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and speed
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders in a professional and proactive manner
- Motivated to excel in the role with demonstrated success in providing consistent and exceptional customer service
