First Mode is seeking to grow its skillset in supply chain and operations. As a member of the team, with broad experience in researching, finding, auditing, developing, and contracting new and novel supply chain partners, the **Supply Chain Manager** will be the backbone of the Operations on site.
**Position Responsibilities**
Define and execute on the required supply chain strategy to support development, implementation and on-going operations of the groups program.
Supply Chain Strategy Development and Execution
- Lead development of a fit-for-purpose supply chain strategy to enable and deliver the groups Zero Emissions Haulage program
- Work with technical and commercial strategy to map out required technology components and necessary capabilities to deliver the technical and operational solution
- Engage potential regional/local partners and support negotiations and down selection together with commercial team
- Develop negotiation strategy to drive required commercial outcomes from supplier relationships
- Lead the production planning and scheduling in line with production needs and required internal and external customer lead times, for the deployment of the technology at various sites
Relationship Management
- Manage selected partners and continuously seek to optimize for cost, quality, efficiency and effectiveness
- Proactively engage suppliers, develop and maintain relationships with key existing technology suppliers and new partners within the supply market.
- Actively anticipate potential relationship challenges (internal and external) and proactively manage accordingly
Supply Chain Operations
- Manage and lead sourcing, tendering and contract award process for acquisitions related to the implementation of the technology and/or sub-projects to deliver contracting arrangement at regional/local level
- Lead team of direct and indirect resources to provide guidance and ensure fast execution of supply chain processes.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to address key issues related to tax, legal, finance to support commercial decisions of the projects
- Lead the logistics process the ensure timely movement of goods both globally and locally, according to required delivery dates
- Manage the inventory to ensure required levels to meet agreed service levels, whilst ensuring lowest possible levels of working capital
- Implement required key performance indicators to measure the successful agreed deliveries with suppliers
- Liaise with key stakeholders to make sure that safety aspects and mine requirements are satisfied from a contractual perspective
Team Management
- Support the personal and professional development of direct reports
- Ensure the physical and mental wellbeing of own and direct reports
**Basic Qualifications**
- Proficiency in English language with Spanish advantageous
- Sourcing & Contracts Management
- Supplier Relationship Management
- Supplier Negotiation
- Industry and Market Research
- Manufacturing and Inventory Management
**Preferred Qualifications**
- An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors degree or equivalent) in engineering, economics or business management.
- A postgraduate qualification (Honours/ Masters/Doctoral degree or equivalent) in a relevant discipline OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity
- Professional experience of 20+ years across industries, including manufacturing and mining
- Supply Chain experience of at least 10 years across the industry
**Additional Requirements**
- Must be willing to travel locally and internationally to represent First Mode to its customers, vendors and partners
