Working with Hays and part of a global chemical and mining portfolio, this privately-owned organisation is considered a global leader in each of its business lines. Having recently expanded into the WA market, this organisation is looking to establish themselves this year in line with their global management team. The opportunity has presented itself for a Supply Chain Manager to join the team. The client has the necessary infrastructure across both sites as they move forward with initial production and supply. This exciting opportunity will require an experienced individual with proven logistics and supply chain experience and relationships to build a supply chain network.

**Your new role**

Reporting to the Supply Chain Director APAC, as the Supply Chain Manager, you will work from the Perth office on a Monday to Friday basis. Your overarching objective is to plan and establish the necessary internal team and broader logistics network to ensure product is delivered to; local, national and international customers.

Typical duties will include but not limited to:

- Develop and manage all our logistic operations in Australia, including warehousing, inland and sea transportation. All of these activities associated to DG and non-DG cargo; container and bulk products.
- Develop a short
- and long-term logistic plan and goals
- Export port location in Australia
- Required capacities in the entire chain
- Define which parts of the logistic chain should be externalised through 3PL.
- Required resources to execute the plan
- Define warehouse, truck and vessel standards and procedures, based on industry benchmark research and required quality standards.
- Develop and select third party contractors (warehouse, transport, other logistic services) and negotiate contracts and rates.
- Keep track of service performance and efficiency of the operation (third party evaluation included), stock levels, insurance coverage, delivery times, logistics costs.
- Schedule and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders all shipments from Australia to different destinations.
- Coordinate the export and customs clearance process of containers/bulk departing from the ports in Australia, including document preparation, in close coordination with stevedores, shipping agents, custom departments, barge operators, warehouse etc.
- Evaluate and control budgets and expenditures.
- Ensure logistics related (registrations, license and regulations) compliance and regulatory guidelines followed, local customs regulations, laws and procedures, tariff systems, insurance requirements, quotas, or other customs-related matters.
- Confer with officials in various agencies to facilitate clearance of goods through customs.

**What you'll need to succeed***
- Minimum 3 - 5 years’ relevant experience
- Tertiary qualifications with Business, Marketing or Logistics/Supply Chain are desirable
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
- Experience in ERP, specifically SAP or Microsoft Dynamic AX is beneficial
- Negotiation skills with third parties
- Able to work independently and able to work with direct reports internationally based
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
