**What to Expect**

The Logistics and Distribution Leader is responsible for managing domestic and international shipments to facilitate Tesla’s vehicle distribution, ensuring smooth delivery from production sites to distribution centres and customers throughout Australia and New Zealand. This role ensures that all processes related to vehicle shipment, handling, and delivery are efficient, cost-effective, and meet quality standards. This role will also collaborate with logistics providers, internal and external stakeholders to reduce costs, optimise logistics operations and maintain service quality and compliance.

This position can be based in Sydney or Melbourne.

**What You'll Do**
- Oversee and manage all aspects of logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution, to ensure efficient and timely delivery of products to customers across Australia and New Zealand.
- Lead and manage the vehicle logistics team, providing coaching, mentoring, and support for professional development.
- Proactively identify issues related to shipping, inventory, and transportation, implementing strategic plans to resolve them efficiently. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to identify and evaluate alternative approaches, maintaining a solution-oriented mindset to ensure smooth logistics processes.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies and processes that align with Tesla's sustainability goals and objectives.
- Develop collaborative relationships and communicate relevant information across all levels of the organisation.
- Work closely with third-party logistics providers, transportation carriers, and warehouses to ensure service-level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to vehicle logistics, such as on-time delivery, transportation costs, and vehicle damage rates
- Ensure that all vehicles are delivered in a timely manner, meeting the quality standards expected by customers.
- Ensure that all vehicle logistics operations adhere to relevant regulations, including transportation safety, environmental standards, and import/export laws.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the logistics team and across all logistics activities.

**What You'll Bring**
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in logistics and supply chain management, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage a team and work cross-functionally with other departments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively manage and optimise logistics operations.
- Knowledge of logistics regulations and experience with customs and trade compliance would be preferrable.
