**Join our Neurosurgery Team as a Neurosurgical Staff Specialist**

Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) Neurosurgery Clinic offers public services and manages all conditions diagnosed or suspected that relate to the nervous system and require neurosurgical care

**About the role**:
Reporting to the Head of Unit in Neurosurgery, this role is involves providing a clinical service within the Department of Neurosurgery in association with the other medical personnel. Responsibilities include the provision of specialised care in consulting and emergency clinics, operative surgery and hospitalised patients. Duties for the role will include:

- Providing appropriate specialist level care to patients,
- Participation in the on call roster as directed by the Unit Heads, and maintaining a leadership role in the surgical management of major trauma cases presenting at FMC,
- Participate in and contribute to the academic life of the Department at the direction of the Head of the Department,
- Contributing to and assisting in the management of the Neurosurgery Database.

**About you**:

- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award,
- Fellowship Neurosurgery RACS,
- Broad exposure to general Neurosurgery,
- Demonstrated high standard of clinical practice in Neurosurgery.
