**Description**:
**The position**

This is a key position working within the commercial management function of a Federal Government Department, to assist in a large-scale National project as well as local government clients in Victoria.

You will be working to assist in the establishment of the section’s functions, specially in the area of evaluation of current state, through to the commercial management of vendors, predominantly within the ICT sector. In this role you will either be a leader, or a key member of a project team, in providing procurement advice and development of vendor governance frameworks, providing specialist process and stakeholder management and assist in the development of procurement related artefacts, as required. As a procurement professional, you will assist with complex projects and other key tasks through the evolution of the procurement life cycle and potentially also keep vendors accountable to set deliverables through robust contract and vendor relationship management.

This position requires a sound technical understanding within the broad ICT sector, where you will hold a key position in ensuring that you build sufficient rapport with key stakeholders and deliverables are met to ensure the project meets key milestones, on time.

You will use your strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to be able to engage with a variety of stakeholders. It is important that you are happy to assist and share your knowledge and expertise across Proximity and more broadly across the Government clients.

We are seeking to recruit an ICT Procurement professional who shares our values and vision and has skills and key attributes in the following key areas; you don’t need to have experience in all of these areas, we love people who are eager to grow and learn, to build on your prior experience:

- Previous experience in a similar position where you have:

- Demonstrated an understanding for the ICT procurement process by undertaking procurement activities.
- Contract and vendor management.
- Managed a group of stakeholders to achieve a common outcome and meet set deliverables within a Government environment.
- Worked collaboratively with contractors and strategic partners to develop performance management methodologies that encourage strong performance rather than relying on penalties.
- Negotiated value outcomes for a client or work area in a collaborative manner.
- Identified and managed risks and issues at the earliest opportunity to ensure that projects, programs and outcomes are not impacted by the eventuation of risks.
- Providing probity advice to ensure ethical behaviour during procurement processes.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills and very high-level professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of different people.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, including the ability to set priorities and work to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
- A current security clearance is highly advantageous; alternatively, you must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to obtain one.
