**WHAT IS THE ROLE?**

The Safety & Compliance Officer will promote and enhance a positive safety culture within SEQH. This role will work closely with the HR Manager - to identify and implement appropriate education and training in safety and to ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety legislation and the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme. Your role as Safety and Compliance Coordinator, will provide effective safety support and drive a positive safety culture across all our business departments with a specific focus on warehousing and transport areas, ensuring compliance across the business.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Create, implement, update and review all Safe Operation Procedures (SOP's) and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS);
- Conduct workplace audits;
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements;
- Create and maintain effective and efficient OHS Management Systems;
- Facilitate monthly safety meetings;
- Partner with and support Managers with regular Toolbox meetings;
- Investigate all incidents and near misses and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence;
- Conduct risk assessments to reduce hazards and the risk of injury in the workplace;
- Conduct random drug and alcohol testing in the workplace in accordance with SEQH policy;
- Attend and investigate traffic incidents involving our fleet of trucks if and when required;
- Assist in new employee inductions;
- Review, create, implement and update WH&S Policies & Procedures

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS**:

- Degree or Certificate IV in OH&S (desirable)
- Current First Aid Certificate (desirable);
- Previous experience in the Transport Industry (desirable);
- Test and tag certification (desirable);
- Advanced level of skill in Microsoft Office particularly Excel;
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to implement change and corrective actions;
- High degree of confidentiality;
- Self-motivation and the ability to problem solve;
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Morning shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
