Finance Specialist

This position will support the establishment of finance systems and reporting protocols and report to the CEO. Responsible for using financial management knowledge to recommend appropriate finance strategies to support the short-term and long-term compliance, finance, credit control, claims tracking, risk management and investment strategies for the company.

**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Active collaboration and interaction with senior management and both internal and external stakeholders
- Compliance with IFRS and accounting standards in multiple jurisdictions
- Design and implement finance processes for Credit Control/Financial handling, Policy Sales Accounting, Claims tracking and other insurance operations related finance processes
- Monthly analysis and management of Reinsurance
- Assets/Liabilities movements
- Corporate governance compliance by providing expert financial knowledge and ensuring reliable financial data
- Providing support for implementation and ongoing activities of IFRS 17 and local regulatory requirements.

**Technical Skills**:

- Advanced financial analysis, modelling and risk management skills
- Understanding of finance architecture and data flows, with business and and process analysis skills
- Financial reporting knowledge and ability to work with financial accounting systems to generate financial report independently
- Sound knowledge of business processes (in an insurance environment would be beneficial)
- An ability to analyse, design, implement and overcome business-related challenges/changes in a fast-paced project environment
- Ability to learn and master developing/evolving accounting software products/tools

**KEY SELECTION CRITERIA**

**Mandatory**:

- Min 3 years’ experience in financial specialist position
- Tertiary Degree in accounting, finance or similar
- Qualified ACA or ACCA Accountant with Insurance product knowledge and associated accounting expertise
- Experience in regulatory, accounting transformation and conversion
- Strong financial analysis, modelling and reporting skills
- Ability to understand finance architecture and data flows with a strong bias for business and process analysis
- Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.

**Highly Regarded (but not essential)**:

- Experience in Insurance industry or organisation
- Experience setting up finance systems and reporting protocols particularly in a greenfield or start up context
- Experience working in a company with a strong compliance culture.
