How you will make an impact
As a Clinical Risk and Safety Officer, you will provide support to the Clinical Risk Manager and the team to initiate, plan, implement, report and evaluate the Clinical Risk Management functions, such as incident management, coronial cases, medico legal work, product recalls and clinical audit activities. This is a 12 month fixed term maternity leave cover position.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Works in collaboration with other members of the Clinical Risk Team to foster a culture that encourages continuous improvement through the management of clinic risk- Supports the implementation of Statutory Duty of Candour/Open Disclosure (OD), staff education and process evaluation- Undertakes mortality review and maintains a register of all Coronial cases, and ensures all cases are investigated- Ensuring compliance with statutory or legislative requirements- Using the medico-legal document management and claims system and database- Participating in the review and development of Cabrini Health policy and procedures relating to coronial and clinical governance issues
About you
You will be tertiary qualified and bring to the team your vast clinical risk management/medico legal experience. You will also have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a health professional- An understanding of the RiskMan incident reporting system (desirable)- Knowledge of quality improvement principles and processes- Legislative and Accreditation requirements for acute health- Excellent communication skills with a positive and friendly attitude- Excellent organisation abilities to work efficiently autonomously and respectfully within the team
