Overview:
Systems Planning and Analysis Australia Pty Ltd (SPA Australia) provides senior decision makers within the Australian Defence Force with timely and objective analysis of military capabilities and operations across the full spectrum of conflict. We act as a trusted agent to our Government customers and advise them on their most critical missions. Our team of experienced military professionals and highly qualified analysts integrate operational expertise with advanced analytic methods to develop and deliver products that evaluate current and future capabilities and concepts. Our work is state-of-the-art and made possible only through the best personnel and tools in the national security business. We are highly collaborative in spirit and practice, and we freely share expertise across SPA in our quest for enduring solutions to critical concerns.

SPA is rapidly expanding and has an immediate need for a General Manager to scale our operations, drive growth, and ensure we are the premiere provider of analytic services in the national security space in Australia.

**Responsibilities**:

- Leading and managing SPA Australia’s Annual Operating Plan (AOP) to ensure that metrics are met with respect to quality, people, security, and growth.
- Ensuring internal quality control measures are in place and followed so that SPA continues to deliver the highest quality services to our customers. Where possible based on expertise and background, the GM will contribute to and stay involved with direct projects.
- Leading and mentoring the team in Australia to ensure excellence in day-to-day execution as well as planning for professional development and future growth of the team.
- Developing new business across the national security spectrum in Australia within Defence and other Government agencies.
- Developing and implementing a strategy to scale our support functions to keep pace with the rapidly growing business.

Qualifications:
**Required Qualifications**:

- 15+ years of experience in management, including at least ten years in a leadership role managing personnel and building high performing teams.
- 10+ years of experience in Defence and an intimate understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the Defence space.
- Team player with a strong ability to build relationships and partner across an organization, including with geographically dispersed teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Goal oriented and comfortable taking on new and different challenges.
- Available to spend approximately 1-month at SPA’s global headquarters in Virginia, USA for onboarding and training.
