Our client is an Australian Federal Government Client based in the Melbourne CBD. They have a great opportunity available for a Level 1 & 2 Support Officer specializing in Microsoft technology and infrastructure to join on a long term contracting basis.
- 12 month initial contract plus 2 years of extensions, with rates negotiable
- Melbourne CBD based role - requires 5 days per week onsite commitment
- Must be an Australian Citizen

**Responsibilities**
In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Providing high quality 1st and 2nd level IT support and Service Desk functions
- Test, install and maintain computers, peripherals, videoconferencing, office equipment, software, logs and security systems as required
- Maintain and monitor backup procedures, communications and security systems
- Monitoring and managing IT support requests through the Service Desk system, telephone and personal presentation, and documenting and resolving issues
- Fostering effective and productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including external service providers in relation to support arrangements and other tasks as
- Undertake project work as directed

**About you**
To be successful in this role you will need:

- Experience providing 1st level and 2nd IT support in a Microsoft environment
- Experience installing and trouble-shooting PCs and peripherals, and networks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, customer service capabilities, teamwork, and professional approach to interacting with stakeholders
- The ability to prioritise, document issues and solutions, log tickets, and manage communications on progress
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology are highly desirable and/or Industry related training and qualifications
- You must be an Australian Citizen and Eligible to obtain a Baseline security Clearance to work for this client
