Seeking an advanced Contracts Officer to deliver specialist advice to senior stakeholders in State Government
**Your new company**
A major State Government department based in East Perth, is seeking an experienced Contracts Officer to coordinate high-value contracts whilst providing specialist advice to senior stakeholders. You will be engaged on a temporary basis for 3-months, with possibility of further extensions. You will be required to work full-time hours and will be paid on a competitive hourly rate.
**Your new role**
As the Contracts Coordinator you will be responsible for developing high-value contracts, whilst liaising with key stakeholders on procurement policy, planning, contract formation and contract variations. Your duties will include:
- Develop complex contracts including assisting with procurement planning, tender documents and contract evaluations
- Interpret complex contract law requirements and ensure contracts are compliant with government regulations
- Advice and influence stakeholders on effective money decisions
- Provide specialist advice on contract development and management issues
- Facilitate contract negotiations
- Support the coordination of group buying
- Guide, supervisor and mentor staff within the Sourcing team as needed
**What you'll need to succeed**
In order to be considered for this role you will demonstrate a strong background within contracts management, ideally within a Government body. In addition, you will have:
- Strong communication skills with confidence in negotiations, delivering advice and leading a team
- Excellent written communication skills with confidence handling technical documents
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Excellent initiative
- The ability to provide or complete a National Police Clearance, dated in 3-months or less
