About the Role
Service Stream are looking for a Financial Planning Analyst to join our growing team in Melbourne, based in Collins Street.
Must haves for the role:
Experience and sound understanding of project accounting and the associated accounting standards
- Advanced excel skills - project forecast modelling a key part of the role
- Project experience - looking for someone who has worked on a Telco / construction project previously.
- Stakeholder management - experience working and influencing Project Managers / Directors
Reporting to Finance Manager, with dotted line to FP&A Manager.
Accountability:
Prepare monthly financial statements for the project, which may involve conducting analysis on actual, forecast and budget information for submission to finance and operations management.
Conduct financial analysis on business opportunities, contributing to the preparation of long-term forecasts and business plans, evaluating profitability and performance as directed.
Maintain current knowledge of applicable accounting standards and future reporting developments, ensuring on-going compliance with relevant standards and legislative requirements;
Management, reporting and analysis of the business unit cash flows.
Other ad hoc tasks as required
Attributes:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, or Business or Commerce with a major or sub major in Accounting and/or Finance, combined with an advanced knowledge of financial operations.
Experience in an project finance role, and/or sound commercial acumen and understanding of general and transactional accounting, cost accounting and reporting.
Problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work through issues with moderate complexity and guide others in the resolution of problems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation.
Competencies include; Interpersonal Ability, Planning and Organising, Problem Solving and Analytical Thinking, Technology and Process.
