**The Role**:
Reporting to the CDC NSW Chief Executive Officer and being part of the CDC NSW leadership team, the **General Manager - Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ)** will lead the HSEQ function for the business unit, managing compliance with HSEQ obligations for CDC NSW.

**Key Performance Requirements and Duties**:

- Support and drive CDC’s national HSEQ strategy, track progress against action plans and collaborate with the national HSEQ cohort on improvements and refinements.
- Embed and enhance HSEQ systems to support delivery of CDC NSW business objectives in line with accreditation and legislative requirements
- Champion the Risk Management Framework and coordinate management of risks for the CDC NSW Leadership Team
- Demonstrate WHS due diligence and leadership by understanding the nature of the company’s operations and the hazards and risks associated with those operations
- Monitor compliance with HSEQ policies and regulations
- Monitor and review with accident investigations and corrective actions
- Liaise with the Injury Management team and assist with developing and supporting the implementation of Injury Prevention initiatives to minimise risks and reoccurrence.
- Accountable for monitoring and overseeing audits and investigations and reviewing the safety culture across CDC NSW
- Coordinate reporting on HSEQ performance and compliance internally and externally.
- Maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Communicating and promoting CDC NSW’s commitment to a best practice Health, Safety, Environment and Quality culture
- Lead, support and mentor the HSEQ team
- Contribute to and support national HSEQ projects and initiatives

**About You**:

- A senior leader with demonstrated HSEQ experience in a complex or high-risk industry
- Degree level qualification in safety management or a related field
- Analytical and numeracy skills, ability to produce reports and provide data analysis
- Exceptional communication skills and interpersonal abilities
