**About the Role**:
The Production Manager role has responsibility for specialized product plants based in **Melbourne’s East**, the customer relationships, developing & managing relationships with customers, and setting high performance expectations for Hanson functional teams will be critical to success.

**Key Deliverables**:

- Identify value creation opportunities for the business and the customer, the service model required, functional interactions and resourcing needs
- Lead production & transport team in positive, people focussed manner
- Train, coach and monitor plant and transport staff
- Source and manage materials for the development of new products to meet current and future customer demand
- Convey concrete technical characteristics and be able to explain them simply to customers

**Background and Experience required**:

- Operations experience preferably in the construction materials industry and/or 2 - 3 years production experience
- Develop and build knowledge of decorative market competitors, price and customer activity
- Well-developed customer service skills and ability to respond effectively and interpret customer needs
- Ability to read and understand technical procedures, government regulations and the ability to write reports and correspondence
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Commercial acumen
- High level of attention to detail
- Capabilities in fostering relationships
- Ability to learn the Hanson sales processes and procedures for SAP including customer master data, quotations, contracts, price increases, surcharges, cash sales and staff discounts
- Effective negotiating skills and well developed problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate to all levels of an organisation and effectively present skills
- Ability to build and maintain long term relationships
- High computer literacy skills e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Outlook, SAP
