**About the Role**
- ** Position Summary**

This hybrid position will be responsible for:

- Supporting the leading hand in day-to-day production office duties, including planning of the work flow in our cylinder manufacturing cell and work order processing.
- Perform assembly and testing of pneumatic cylinders and other duties associated with manufacturing.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**
- Support the leading hand with production planning and scheduling. This includes monitoring "work in progress" to ensure the site meets on time delivery targets.
- Support leading hand with preparation of production reports as required by Operations Manager.
- Support leading hand with communication and co-ordination across other business functions i.e. Sales, Engineering, Quality and Supply chain
- Perform work order maintenance and other production related activities in JDE.
- Perform "work order completion" process in JDE
- To liaise and co-ordinate between departments to ensure:

- Component shortages are followed up with the supply chain team & they are delivered promptly for production.
- Operations Manager is informed about late deliveries/exceptions impacting customer deliveries for manufactured items.
- Sales are updated on late deliveries via a weekly report.
- Perform assembly & testing of pneumatic cylinders and other engineered products in support of the production system. Activities are to be carried out safely in accordance with company quality control standards.
- Perform simple cutting and machining operations in support of the production process
- Operate, set up and adjust all assembly and testing tools in the workshop.
- Perform non mechanical incidental tasks related to production, including picking of components from warehouse and daily work area cleaning.
- Periodic Maintenance of tools and equipment as required or as defined in the schedule. Maintenance functions may include removing equipment fastenings, lubrication of production equipment and adjustments to production equipment as required. Maintain tools & equipment in a clean safe operating condition
- Maintain a clean, safe, organised and well presented working environment. Your work cell and desk must be clean and tidy before you finish at the end of each day.
- Participate in daily toolbox meetings
- To provide input and actively participate in continuous process improvement and safety initiatives.
- Ensure familiarity with and comply with all engineering/production procedures, operating instructions and ISO 9001:2015 QA procedures to ensure our products are produced to quality standards.
- Ensure a safe working environment is maintained and ensure compliance with all safety measures and procedures.
- Actively participate in annual stock take and provide on-going input to reduce line variances & to further improve stocktake process
- To be familiar with and adhere to all company policies and procedures at all times
- To complete other special projects that may be assigned by the Leading Hand or Operations Manager from time to time

**Expertise Required**
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude
- Experience with similar "hands-on" process assembly
- Ability to multi-task and 'think on your feet'
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings preferred but not essential
- Good general IT skills, experience in the JDE system preferred but not essential
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with various stakeholders
- Organisational skil
