**Job Description**:
This is a role for an extremely thorough, pragmatic and passionate end-to-end researcher who has a deep understanding or is keen to explore the science of wellbeing, the intersection between research and technology, and children’s mental health and wellbeing..

You will have the opportunity to take ownership of critical Smiling Mind research and evaluation programs, deliver insights to our passionate team across the organisation, and further understanding in the field of wellbeing.

Above all, you have an appetite to learn and grow, a pragmatic approach, and a willingness to dive into complex concepts and ideas that ensure our products and programs remain leading in our field

The Research Officer will contribute to the evaluation of all projects being undertaken by Smiling Mind and will manage research initiatives both internally and externally. This position will require end to end research management skills including but not limited to literature reviews, study design, protocol development, ethics submissions, recruitment of participants, management of participants, data collection, data management, data visualisation, statistical analysis, report/manuscript writing, effective communication of insights across teams, and external research partnership management.

**Qualifications**:

- Strong background in end-to-end research and evaluation from within psychology, health or mental health, clinical research or another related field.
- Previous experience working in a professional research and insights capacity, using various methods and techniques to answer research questions
- Experience using appropriate quantitative and qualitative research methods.
- Prior experience using research/data collection tools and platforms
- Confidence working with and discussing statistical analysis to others who are proficient in statistics, as well as explain concepts and ideas to non-statisticians in layman’s terms.
- An ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders internally and externally, building a shared understanding of research concepts and insights.
- Ability to use and analyse data using software and dashboarding tools
- Strong capacity to work independently in order to plan, prioritise and deliver multiple projects at once.
- We’d love to hear from researchers about ways you’ve answered tough research questions, and helped team members translate these findings in an effective and pragmatic way.
- Tertiary degree in a relevant field (e.g. psychology, social science, health)
- Higher degree qualification (desirable)
