**Mechanical Trades Assistant**

**About the Role**:
Big Blue Marine Mechanical Services is a small family owned and run business that carries out repairs, maintenance and inspections on a variety boats.

**Duties Include.**
- Ensure Workshop is kept clean, tidy and in order
- Assist with repairs and maintenance as directed
- Collect materials from external suppliers as directed
- Assist with all aspects of vessel mechanical repairs or maintenance work to be undertaken on a day to day basis;
- Assist in the performance of fault/maintenance diagnostic activities.
- Complete all records and paperwork accurately as required.

**To be considered for this role you must have the following**:

- Prior Mechanical Experience is essential
- Valid driver's licence and a good driving record;
- Technical/Mechanical aptitude;
- Secondary or tertiary qualifications
- A can-do attitude with a strong ability to listen, learn and follow direction;
- Highly reliable, punctual and take pride in your skills and ability;
- Ability to perform day-to-day physical tasks involving standing, kneeling, turning, and pushing or lifting objects;
- Pass Drug, Alcohol, Medical Assessment
- Provide a Police clearance

**If you are keen to learn, can demonstrate commitment and possess a strong work ethic, then you will be offered an opportunity to undertake an apprenticeship with us.**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: $27.41 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 38 per week

Schedule:

- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
- Penalty rates

**Education**:

- High School (Year 9-11) (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Manual Driver Licence (required)
- Work Safely at Heights (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (required)
