**About the role***:

The Reinsurance Operations Lead is responsible for managing and coordinating the reinsurance operations, ensuring accurate reporting, efficient placement processes and effective treaty and facultative reinsurance administration. This role will support the business with reinsurance related inquires and process improvements.

**Key responsibilities***:

- Liaise with Ansvar’s Chief Underwriting Officer and Head of Underwriting Performance to assist with managing all aspects of reinsurance reporting including: 1. The production of the quarterly reinsurance returns for Ecclesiastical Insurance Office Plc (EIO) including the breakdown of reinsurance receivables by reinsurer. 2. Timely and fit for purpose reinsurance reporting to enable effective management of the business and decision making.
- Manage the preparation of reinsurance related reports for APRA Returns on monthly/quarterly basis
- Prepare Committee and Board papers relating to Ansvar’s reinsurance program
- Assist the company’s Finance team with reinsurance accounting
- Manage the Company’s reinsurance premium payments and receivables
- Maintain an up-to-date Reinsurance Operations Manual
- Manage the reinsurance treaties set up in the i90 and Access (SSP Select) systems and ensure reinsurance arrangements are implemented in these systems accurately and in a timely manner
- Manage the reinsurance treaties and recoveries system maintenance
- Provide support in managing and performing the Reinsurance elements of key business projects as required, including assistance with business case analysis on projects as required.

**Knowledge, skills and experience**:

- Extensive experience (min. 10+ years) in a reinsurance technical role
- Knowledge of Property and Casualty lines of business
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the Australian legal and regulatory framework, in particular as it affects general insurance
- Confident and influential communicator with the ability to negotiate at all levels
- Experience of effective stakeholder management within a commercial environment (including both internal and external stakeholders)
- Experience in report writing
- Experience in data analysis and management information (MI) reporting

**Highly desirable**
- Undergraduate degree in Insurance, Business/Commerce, Finance, Mathematics or a related discipline
- ANZIIF Qualification (Senior Associate or above)
