**A**bout the Role**

To manage the reinsurance programmes for the Treasury Managed Fund and able to provide senior level advice and develop state and public sector wide strategies on liability related reinsurance issues.

**Duties**

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a **Reinsurance Manager, **you will:

- Responsible for developing an over-arching reinsurance strategy for liability classes in accordance with the approved risk appetite.
- Collaborate with the Reinsurance Manager (responsible for property) and the Senior Specialist Reinsurance to ensure there is a co-ordinated approach to managing all reinsurance arrangements in compliance with the Reinsurance Management Strategy (ReMS)
- Ensure there is a viable reinsurance programme in place that is relevant, cost effective taking into account current issues in accordance with the ReMS.
- Identify and propose strategies for shortfalls or gaps in reinsurance coverage.
- Manage the annual reinsurance renewal including strategies, process, marketing and engagement with the Reinsurance Service Provider (RSP) and Reinsurers.
- Administration of the ReMS including compilation of annual Reinsurance Arrangements Statement (RAS), including declarations, management of reinsurance counterparty risk.
- Collaborate with General Lines underwriting team, Actuaries and the RSP to ensure all exposure datasets are delivered accurately and on time.

**Skills & Experience**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Extensive experience (10 years +) in insurance or reinsurance underwriting or broking.
- Detailed knowledge of liability underwriting and/or claims management that is relevant to the TMF.
- Ability and experience to review and draft insurance-based language for insurance and reinsurance arrangements.
- Experience and detailed knowledge of complex liability reinsurance arrangements relevant to the TMF.
