This is a senior position within the Communicable Disease Epidemiology and Surveillance team in the Health Protection Branch. The position provides specialist technical support, policy advice and professional guidance on epidemiological issues and projects to Health Protection Branch staff and the Chief Health Officer; and professional leadership to epidemiologists and students within the Communicable Disease Epidemiology and Surveillance team.
The position also has significant stakeholder engagement and relationship management responsibilities with respect to funded services relating to the BBV/STI program. The position manages a team of epidemiologists and project staff working in the BBV/STI disease surveillance program and has overall responsibility and oversight for the surveillance and reporting of notifiable diseases caused by Blood-borne viruses such as viral hepatitis B, C, and D, and sexually transmissible infections including HIV, gonorrhoea, chlamydia and syphilis.

An epidemiologist with a specific postgraduate qualification in epidemiology?
Able to demonstrate extensive experience in communicable disease surveillance and epidemiology?
Experienced in leadership and managing a team of professionals?
