**Why Your Role Matters**

The Accommodation Outreach Officer plays a key role within the Pro Vice-Chancellor Education & Student Experience (PVCESE), Wellbeing Pillar, Accommodation Theme, UNSW Accommodation Operational Team in proactive coordination of the ongoing outreach and engagement with the UNSW Colleges and Accommodation residents for the purpose of creating and maintaining an ongoing connection across the UNSW Accommodation student community.

This role involves coordinating the development of promotional and community outreach communications and implementation of activities and events, projects and initiatives specific to the UNSW Colleges and Accommodation residents. The promotion happens externally as well as internally within our various faculties. In this role, you will work closely with the entire UNSW student community, across the PVCESE portfolio and the Division of Academic & Student Life, including the Future Students Marketing Officer as well as external stakeholders.

This role reports to the Operations Manager (Accommodation) and has no direct reports. This is a parental leave cover contract, until the end of August 2025.

**Main responsibilities Summary**
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with portfolio teams, relevant faculty and division staff, PVCESE teams, UNSW Future Students, and external stakeholders such as agents, secondary schools, and scholarship organizations.
- Coordinate workshops, seminars, training, forums, meetings, events, and manage follow-ups and project status reporting.
- Collaborate with the Head of Colleges and Manager Operations (Accommodation) on program, project, and initiative plans and schedules. Manage program and event management systems, including invitations, registrations, post-event administration, and project evaluation and reporting.
- Support adherence to UNSW governance pathways to ensure consistent project management. Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of policies, procedures, guidelines, and training materials related to programs, projects, and initiatives.

**Who You Are**

We are looking for someone who is excited about UNSW’s vision and values, who is creative, organised and energised by building relationships and interacting with a range of stakeholder. We’d love you to come equipped with:

- Demonstrated experience in event/project/program (including managing logistics, promotions, communications, budgeting, documentation and reporting)
- Advanced communication skills, including demonstrated experience in content writing and editing (official communications, reports, promotional and web content), proofreading and the ability to research and analyse material and summarise key issues. We use Adobe to manage our website so ideally, you’ll have prior experience using the Adobe Suite
- Demonstrated experience in video content creation, using mobile. You will be supported by the marketing and social media team to put content together, so you don’t need prior experience in producing or editing
- Demonstrated ability to manage your time effectively, respond to changing priorities, handle multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative

Working hours are Monday to Friday, business hours, with some flexibility to start a little earlier or a little later in the day. We occasionally have some key events happening outside of those hours (open days etc.) that we’ll also need you to attend. Whilst there is some flexibility to work from home occasionally, most of the work must be done on campus.
