**About the role**:
The Tender Manager is responsible for the tender process and related submissions for all wholesale distribution opportunities, which includes responses to formal tender requests via the intermediated market, and direct to employer requirements. These activities will support the successful acquisition of new employer partners into Hostplus.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Support the acquisition of superannuation default fund status in line with the wholesale growth strategy
- Support the acquisition of superannuation default fund status for employers within identified key market segments as instructed by the Head of Business Growth & Acquisition and Executive Manager Client Relationships & New Business
- Review and enhance Hostplus’ tender response frameworks to improve efficiencies and quality of submissions
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and engage business wide SMEs in the development of tender submissions
- Develop and submit quality tender responses which lead to the acquisition of new employer partners and associated membership into Hostplus. This includes submissions via intermediated channels such as Tender Managers and Corporate Super advisory firms and direct to employers.
- Project manage all formal tender requirements, liaising with all internal SMEs and ensuring ultimately that our response is of a high quality, consistent on brand narrative and is fully compliant with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Position and reinforce Hostplus as a provider of high-quality, customer-centric, superannuation and related services to prospect employer partners via tender submission and pitch content
- Distribute Hostplus superannuation and related financial products to prospective employers
- At the request of the Head of Business Growth and Acquisition, build and maintain relationships with 1st and 2nd tier tender mangers and corporate super advisory firms
- At the request of the Head of Business Growth and Acquisition, leverage relationships with tender managers and corporate super advisory firms to identify new employer default tender opportunities, ensuring adherence with Hostplus’ internal RFP assessment model and criteria
- At the request of the CEO and/or Group Executive provide content development support in relation to merger and acquisition opportunities
- All new business activities must be delivered in full compliance with regulatory requirements, including and not limited to Design and Distribution Obligations, adherence with s 68a provisions and General Advice parameters
- Be fully accountable for the achievement of agreed sales targets, across the various measures, as specified within annual Key Performance Indicators
- Regularly update and maintain a quality focused tender library and ensure it remains compliant and updated.
- Review and update the Hostplus tender log and tender opportunity pipeline on a regular basis.
**About you**:
- Minimum of 5 years in a new business, client relationships or tender management role within superannuation or financial services.
- Demonstrated experience as a tender management and or business development professional, preferably within superannuation or financial services
- A deep understanding of superannuation legislation and regulatory requirements and their impacts on the sales and tender process
- Experience in sales within a business-to business environment, preferably within superannuation or financial services
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with proven ability to build and maintain positive internal stakeholder relationships
- Strong influencing and negotiating skills
- Demonstrated project management and organisational skills
- Ability to develop a thorough understanding of Hostplus employers, their members and the overall market in which Hostplus operates.
