**Salary starting from $134,311 + Superannuation**

**About the role**

We have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, driven and customer focused leader to manage our Planning Services team to deliver Development Assessment services to the development industry and our community.

This role provides the opportunity to partner in leading the implementation of Council’s residential and industrial growth areas including Angle Vale, Playford North Extension, Virginia, Riverlea Park and Greater Edinburgh Parks.

Playing a pivotal leadership role within the Development Services department, the Manager - Planning Services will:

- Build and lead a team of professionals to deliver development assessment outcomes in accordance with legislative and decision-making frameworks.
- Support planning for our city, including negotiating with developers to ensure the best outcomes for our community are achieved.
- Analyse and report on current issues and trends related to development assessment and planning functions.
- Implement, manage, and oversee a quality control framework to ensure high-quality development assessment outcomes are achieved.
- Manage and oversee Council’s Assessment Panel.

You will hold a tertiary qualification in Urban Planning with extensive knowledge and practical experience in the management of growth and land use developments under the Planning Development and Infrastructure Act 2016. You will also have exceptional interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead a successful, high performing and supportive team environment.
