**A brief look at the JOB**

Reporting to the Director - National Transport & Warehousing, you will be assigned specifically to operate and manage a majority of the department's road and warehousing functions and provide a seamless, cost effective and proactive logistics and distribution service.

With National scope for Road and Warehousing operations, your role is responsible for coordinating and controlling the tasks pertaining to Management, Operations, Financial, Customer Service/Business Development, Safety, Staff and Development, and Regulatory & Company Business Process functions.

The main objective of this role is to deliver all road transport and warehouse logistics functions in a very demanding, complex and fast-paced environment, ensuring the business deliverables operate efficiently, and safely, and are highly competitive, and profitable, whilst remaining 100% customer focussed and reliable.

This includes but is not limited to:

- Assisting the Director with systemic improvements through various transport interfaces to meet company cost and efficiency requirements.
- Performing high-level liaison with Transport Carriers, 3PL Warehouse providers, Owner Drivers, and internal Site Managers ensuring the extensive Supply Chain network runs effectively and services meet customer satisfaction.
- Negotiating and maintaining contracts with all vendors.
- Maintaining new and existing relationships ensuring the best possible logistics solutions are realised and achieved.
- Motivating and mentoring other Transport & Logistics team members.
- Ensuring the delivery of services and achievement of service standards expressed in agreements with customers and internal standards.
- Developing relationships with customers, taking initiative to develop new business opportunities beneficial to customers
- Responsible for ensuring the requirements for the ‘Chain of Responsibility’ management system is implemented and are complied with in the designated areas to the level required of the position.
- Possess extensive Transport Management experience at a National Level across numerous sites.
- In-depth knowledge of the Transport and 3PL Warehouse providers Nationally and have the ability to identify their capability in delivering solutions.
- Possess a high-level ability to negotiate contracts.
- High-level interpersonal, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Managing complex projects involving external partners.
- Keen commercial and financial awareness.
- Strategic planning and resource management skills.
- Strong leadership and motivational ability.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong Problem solving and decision-making skills.
