About the Role:
A full-time permanent position has become available for a Product Owner to work with our wholesale energy trading teams. You will be responsible for owning the product roadmap for the complex range of systems that supports AGL’s physical trading desks and ensuring that our traders continue to have the necessary capabilities to operate one of Australia’s largest generation portfolios, not just for today, but also through the energy transformation that underpins AGL’s future vision and ambitions.

What you’ll be doing:

- Create and manage a system and capability (product) roadmap by working closely with physical trading desks. These could be driven by such things as regulatory compliance, portfolio optimisation or the onboarding of new physical assets or commercial agreements
- Drive the product feature development through an agile delivery team. Provide leadership, prioritisation and commercial insight through the planning, development and release stages
- Build and manage stakeholder relationships with the Physical Trading team, including senior leaders, traders and analysts. Use your technical acumen to provide direction back through to Technology teams
- Provide leadership and support to the business analysts who are responsible for gathering the product and business requirements
- Be responsible for the change management and adoption of new system capabilities
- Be a contact point to troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day system issues which may affect the trading desk

About You:
You will ideally have had exposure to the dispatch, trading or generation of electricity as well as a strong analytical background where you have been utilising your stakeholder relationships and communication skills to identify and develop improvements to systems or processes.

What you’ll bring to the table:

- A background, or keen interest in physical energy generation, trading or energy markets
- The ability to work collaboratively with others to build and manage strong relationships across a diverse group of leaders, technical specialists (Traders) and analysts
- Experience creating, prioritising and managing a systems product backlog, ideally as part of an agile delivery
- Knowledge and experience with software development, data and reporting principles
- Motivated, creative thinker, flexible, commercially minded leader
- Tertiary qualifications in IT, Business, Engineering or similar disciplines
- Advanced communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
